Shaji has around 17 years of experience in financial services industry, including 13 years in the venture capital and private equity industry. At EQ, he is responsible for investment and portfolio management that includes sourcing deals, executing investments, engaging with & monitoring portfolio companies and planning & executing exit strategies. Prior to the current fund, has been associated with Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd where he led early and growth-stage investments in knowledge/technology-based industries. He began his VC/PE career with Kerala Venture Capital Fund, where he was responsible for investment activities.

He sits on the Board of Reliable Autotech Pvt. Ltd. and Mantri Metallics Pvt Ltd.

He is an engineering graduate from Kerala University and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. He is also a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (India).
